Frequently Asked Questions
Can QIP access my decrypted Vault content?
No. Vault items are encrypted on your local device before transmission using your private Vault Recovery Key. The servers hold ciphertext only.
What happens if I miss a check-in?
A missed check-in begins verification, not an immediate release. An escalation notice is sent to your Trusted Guardians, followed by a mandatory 72-hour Final Hold cool-off during which you can cancel at any time.
What happens if I downgrade my subscription?
Downgrading is strictly non-destructive. None of your capsules or files will be deleted. Your account will simply be marked over-limit, preventing the creation of new resources until you upgrade or delete items.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes. You can manage your subscription and cancel anytime through the in-app billing portal.
If I forget my password, can I still open my Vault?
Your account password and your Vault encryption are separate. Resetting your account password restores sign-in access but never decrypts your Vault by itself — you still need your Vault password or the recovery material you saved during setup. If you lose both, your protected content cannot be recovered.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Sign in on your new device, revoke the lost device under Settings → Devices, and recover your Vault with your saved recovery material. Without that material, the Vault stays encrypted — nothing is silently bypassed.
